With backwoods-bathed vocals and bona fide southern swagger, recently nominated Texas Regional Radio's New Female Vocalist of the Year and 2023 Texas Country Music Awards Emerging Artist of the Year, Payton Howie is on the rise. This Texas trailblazer and Nashville recording artist is branded as the ultimate ‘All American Girl.’
The best spot in Kenney, Texas for live music, home cooking, and a full bar. Sip on ice-cold beers, specialty wines, and signature margaritas while enjoying our sweet southern charm. Spend an evening with family and friends just a little outside of town. You won't regret the drive because the experience is one-of-a-kind.
Thanks to each of you who joined us for our first "Plates With A Purpose" luncheon featuring author and podcast host Melanie Shankle. It was a great event - the participation, outpouring of support and interest from our community was incredible! Thank you for supporting this cause and vision for the future.
It is our goal to open a hospice care home, or hospice house, in the year 2026. A hospice care home is a specialized facility that provides a compassionate setting for individuals with life-limiting illnesses.
It is designed to offer a supportive environment for patients and their families, focusing on their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Your generous donation will help fund the mission to bring this to our community.
Heart of Acara Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
All gifts are tax deductible.
Your donation of any amount will help us continue to fulfill a wish or provide the extras that are needed for those with a terminal illness.

To celebrate a life and honor its end, Heart of Acara Foundation has a Memorial Heart Tree located in the main office of Acara Hospice at 601 Graham Road in College Station, Texas. You can pay tribute to your loved one or someone special, or give a gift of gratitude for your hospice team members. Tree Remembrance giving options include:
Gold Heart with engraved name plate $75.00
Silver Heart with engraved name plate $35.00
Please contact charli@heartofacarafoundation.org to purchase your heart or call 979-661-7441.
Please contact charli@heartofacarafoundation.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes. Heart of Acara Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial relief or amenities to improve the quality of life for those diagnosed with a terminal illness, and supporting community awareness and access to end-of-life care.
No. Acara Hospice, as a hospice agency, is a for-profit company. Heart of Acara Foundation, an offspring of Acara Hospice, is a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization designed, in part, to provide for needs not covered by hospice patients' hospice service.
Acara Hospice does not receive any of the funds donated to Heart of Acara Foundation.
Currently, Heart of Acara Foundation works collaboratively with the clinical teams at Acara Hospice to carry out patient wishes. A patient wish might be a family reunion, an outing to a favorite place or something as simple as a spa day.
Sometimes a wish is more of a need, such as a air-conditioner/heater for comfort, help with rent or grocery bills. Heart of Acara Foundation can assist with these life essentials.
Any of your Hospice team can help to prepare a request to the Foundation or you may contact Charli Smith by email at charli@heartofacarafoundation.org. Inquiries can also be made by calling 979-661-7441.

ANY hospice patient who is living – or willing to live - in the area where this house is located will be eligible to live in our hospice house. Other factors, such as life expectancy and financial need, will apply. Access will not be limited to terminally ill patients who are on Acara Hospice; we intend for this to be a community hospice house.
Any hospice agency who provides care for a patient in our hospice house will have an up-to-date business agreement on file.
Ideally, we hope to build the hospice house in a location that can be accessible to the majority of people in territories we are equipped to serve. Brazos County and Grimes County are two biggest considerations at this point.
